Arsenal have reached a full agreement with Newcastle United to sign midfielder Bruno Guimarães in a deal worth £75 million.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the clubs have finalised terms after lengthy negotiations, with personal terms between Guimarães and Arsenal already agreed since July. The Brazilian will now travel from Newcastle’s pre-season training camp in Spain to London for his medical in the coming days.

Why Arsenal Wanted Him

Mikel Arteta has long admired the Brazilian. Guimarães brings energy, ball-winning ability, progressive passing, and leadership — qualities Arteta has been seeking to strengthen his midfield options.

The move comes after Newcastle sold key players earlier in the window (including Sandro Tonali and Anthony Gordon), which ultimately made them more open to negotiations.

Guimarães is expected to complete his medical shortly and be formally announced once all formalities are completed. He will become one of Arsenal’s major midfield additions of the summer under Arteta.
