Chelsea player Marc Cucurella has been in the spotlight this week. He delivered an outstanding performance at Stamford Bridge in the 5th round of the Champions League group stage against Barcelona, reigniting discussions, especially when facing his former club.

Cucurella, in the Cucu…Cucurella segment of the Informe Plus program scheduled to air on December 1, reflected on his experience of leaving Barcelona back then. He said in the program, “Not being given a chance makes you sad, but it also helped me grow a lot. Maybe if the decision back then had been different, I wouldn’t have achieved all that I have now.” 

In the program preview, his former coach at Barcelona B, Gerard Lopez, also shared his views on Cucurella. He said, “During club meetings, when planning and discussing options for young players to be promoted to the first team, I always defended him. I did the same for Grimaldo. I believe they are both left-backs, and if given a chance in the first team and with patience, while allowing Alba to continue his own path, but later hand over the position to one of the players from the youth academy. I was convinced at the time that either of them could do it.”
